Abstract

The 2018 LMS Midlands Regional Meeting and Workshop on -Galois covers, Grothendieck- Teichmüller theory and Dessins d’enfants’ will be held at the University of Leicester from Monday June 4 to Thursday June 7, 2018. The LMS Midlands Regional Meeting will take place on Monday June 4 and the invited speakers are: Fabrizio Catanese (University of Bayreuth, Germany) Minhyong Kim (University of Oxford, UK) Leila Schneps (Institut de Mathématiques de Jussieu Paris, France) These lectures are aimed at a general mathematical audience. All interested, whether LMS members or not, are most welcome to attend this event. The LMS Midlands Regional Meeting on June 4 2018 will be followed by a workshop on -Galois Covers, Grothendieck-Teichmüller Theory and Dessins D-enfants- from June 5-7 2018. The meeting and workshop are sponsored by the London Mathematical Society and the University of Leicester. The organisers are Frank Neumann and Sibylle Schroll.
